Lisa has been an educator for 28 years, beginning as a 2nd grade teacher in Carlsbad in 1997. In 2004, she transferred to MVUSD and taught 4th grade for seven years at E. Hale Curran and Buchanan Elementary. She made the move to middle school in 2011 and taught 7th grade Math until 2024 when she left the classroom to take on the job of MEA President. Her roles in MEA have included Site Rep, Calendar Committee member, LCAP Committee member, Member Engagement Chair, AdHoc Team member, Bargaining Chair, Secretary and Vice President. Through this work, she has discovered that her true passion is advocating for Murrieta Educators!
Vice President
Julie has been working in education for over 21 years. She taught elementary for 10 years and is currently teaching middle school. Julie received her Masters degree in Education as well as her Administration Credential. She has been married for 32 years and has 3 children that graduated from Murrieta Valley School District. Julie served 4 years as Middle School Director and is now enjoying her new role as treasurer.
Secretary
Heather has been working in elementary education for over 10 years. She has her Bachelor's Degree from San Diego State University, her teaching credential from Cal State University San Marcos, and her Master's Degree in Education from American College of Education. She has 2 children that currently attend Murrieta Schools. Heather is passionate about helping to support new teachers as well as advocating for all members. She looks forward to collaborating with the Executive Board to best serve our membership. She has been the MEA Secretary since 2022.

Elementary School Director
Brittany was raised here in Murrieta and is a product of our schools. Growing up, she was passionate about two things: leadership and babies (hence her degree). She graduated from ASU with a BA in Early Childhood Education. She has been an educator for over 8 years. Brittany taught Kindergarten in Arizona for 5 years before returning back to Murrieta to raise her own family. She subbed for MVUSD for 2 years before accepting a 2nd grade position at Rail Ranch Elementary. She is now a 1st grade teacher at Monte Vista Elementary School. She lead on the Executive Board as Secretary for 2 years. As the new MEA Elementary School Director she would like to thank you for allowing her the opportunity to continue serve the members of this wonderful union.
2nd Elementary School Director
I have over a decade of experience in elementary school spanning grades k-5. I have a passion for making inclusive and safe spaces for all students, from all backgrounds. I am married with two kiddos who both attend schools in Murrieta. I look forward to hearing how I can best support elementary staff.
Middle School Director
I have been teaching for 22 years. I began my career in education teaching kindergarten in Vista, California. I moved up to Murrieta in 1998 and started teaching at Avaxat Elementary School. I have taught kindergarten, second, third and eighth grades. During this time I have also taught at the Adult Education School helping students earn their diplomas. I am excited to begin another wonderful year at DMMS.
High School Director
Chris holds a BA in English, a BA in English Education, and an MA in English--and has been a member of the Vista Murrieta English Department since 2016. In his 20+ years as an educator, his adventures have included teaching in Title I schools, serving in numerous site leadership and extracurricular capacities, and engaging in a variety of civic leadership/advocacy roles. Chris welcomes the challenges of representing the interests of his fellow secondary educators and is honored to serve as MEA High School Director.
SPED Director
Heidi began working in Murrieta in 2003. She was a Resource Specialist at Warm Springs Middle School for 7 years before taking the leap to High School in 2010. "Working at Murrieta High School has been incredibly rewarding as I have grown as a person, and a teacher.
I can honestly say, I love my job!"

Cynthia is a Speech and Language Pathologist at Antelope Hills Elementary. She has worked for MVUSD since 2011. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1995. She received her Master of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and her Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential from California State University, Fullerton in 2011. She has been the Specialized Student Support Personnel director for MEA since 2019.
